Who has had problems with slides opening with tied springs?? I have been
running them for quite a while without problems. Just make sure you tie them
equally and seat the tied end very well on the three prongs attached to the
diaphram covers. Push in the slides manually and allow them to return on
their own power to ensure a full range of motion. The tied coils will act no
differently in terms of "creating a wedge" then when the coil compresses, it
just takes some of the tension off initially allowing for a fast throttle
response and / or providing compensation for reduced pressure differential
from a modified airbox.
