It's time to tap the wellspring of knowledge which are these lists. I just replaced my factory incandescent taillight 27/8w bulbs with halogen 50/15w. The difference is substantial, as the numbers indicate, nearly double in brightness. It looks like my brakes are always on until I actually use the brakes. Then, wham... you know I'm slowing down. I've read from the list that there shouldn't be any problems with the wiring or the reflector melting. Seeing that I made this upgrade, I too am a case study on the effects of the brighter bulbs. OK, my question is this. I plan on changing my headlight bulb from the stock 60/55w to a 100/80w. Still haven't decided on which one since there are several types available. Back to the question, has anyone replaced their taillight bulbs as above AND headlight bulb to 100/80w? Did you experience any electrical or charging problems? I'm thinking of thoroughly cleaning all the contacts within those systems including the rect/reg. It might even be better if I simply solder those connections as Mario has done to reduce resistance. Opinions, comments or insults are all welcome. Oh, my website is nearly complete in redesign. Chock full of info, pics and some sounds. It'll be a few more weeks and it'll be up. I'm sure you've been waiting with baited breath to see it..... yeah right. Thanks all, Vmaxman
