I use 15 W 50 100% synthetic competition oil from Motul, the 300V Competition. It is
designed for endurance races, 24 hours, desert, rally and track races. It costs a bomb
(oil change $51 US, not including labour or filter.........)
You might ask why? well it beats me. Yamaha dealer thought it was the best and I don't
want to change right now. It is so good that my bike does not only use it but it seems
to like it so much it actually eats it!!!
I had to top-up the engine after noticing my oil light came on far too often for my
liking. I know the impressive power gained with the jets and cans make some
difference, but not so many wolves Little Red Riding Hood...
TC has an explanation for this, but apart from viscosity and all that, what I
topped-up was nowhere on my bike (20 FL. OZ missing).
