Andrew, I forgot to mention that when I brought my '87 back from France,
Customs wanted me to replace all non conforming parts. They simply took a
French parts list and compared it to an American one. Any numbers (suffixes
or prefixes) that didn't match had to be replaced. They gave me the list
and I went to Yamaha for a cost estimate... $9,285.34 !!! (I've still got
the estimate), and we're talking 1989. Hate to leave you dangling, but I
don't think this is a good forum to go into details on what I did about it.
Suffice to say that the bike is here. Jacques
