So I went to the track Last Night with the 1500 and it was my first runs
on a vmax in 6 mos. Keep in mind my times reflect hi altitude so drop
about 9/10ths for et and 10mph for traps to get the sea level
equivalents. Yea, and my experience level with this bike also cost me
considerably. I don't want to make excuses but I also faced a head wind
of about 20mph and that just sucks down on trap speed.

Got at the Gates around 5:00 and was waiting for my friend to show up
with his legal helmet and gloves and Jacket. He was also bringing me
miscellaneous bolts that are falling off the bike. John G. warned me to
keep checking but you can't help but miss a bolt here and there. I was
nervous so i decided to get my bike out of the truck by myself. First
time doing it alone and lo and behold I forgot to put the kickstand up.
I got the bike on the ramp and then the kickstand got tangled on the
rope that was holding the ramp in place. I was at a steep angle so I
couldn't push it back up into the truck and it wouldn't go down. I stood
there holding my back for what seemed like forever and then finally got
someones attention to come over and help me. WHEW! Felt like a dumbass
already. My Friend (Pat) showed up around 5:30. I went and got my bike
teched out and they gave me no problems. I did get warned to wear steel
toed boots at the track next time. (have some in storage) Of course it
looked like it was going to rain and OF COURSE the wind was really
strong and OF COURSE it was blowing straight at us from the end of the
track.

My bike's trap speeds were low indicating HP that just isn't there yet.
Not just due to the wind. My bike is running way too rich and I will
rejet to get it right. My rear tire is way to hard and I keep roasting
the damn thing off the line, Yea, Don you told me so :). My rear
sprocket is too tall for my trap speeds so I am going to go down 1
tooth. I want to get one of these fantastic tires that those guys used
but need more info on them. I only was promised two runs at the track
and then 1 race. If I won then I got to race again. I wasn't interested
in the race so much as I wanted to go the fastest and quickest that I
could.

              ET Trap 0-60ft 1/8th mile
Pass 1 11.40 125.37 2.175 103.56
Pass 2 11.56 124.34 2.070 124.34

RACING at these runs.
Pass 3 11.36 126.01 2.121 103.26 dial 11.35
Pass 4 11.49 127.07 2.266 103.30 dial 11.30
Pass 5 11.28 126.34 2.086 103.52 dial 11.30 Lost by 2
hundredths or would have won.

Thats all for now it was a blast! I was disappointed that I couldn't
hook up and wanted a better trap. My goals are
10.5 at 135 with a 1.80 0-60ft. I will run again after I get the jetting
right and a smaller sprocket. John G. agrees that my traps are too low
and that should be my priority first.

Take care Colo Phil
