For anyone interested, I've just started my V-Max website. If you want
pictures and advice, you'll have to look elsewhere.
However, I have posted the complete Yamaha V-Max Service Manual, covering
thru 2000 models. Every single page is there, even the blank ones.
Although the scans aren't perfect, the pages are readable and their size is
small enough for browsing. It was a compromise between clarity and
bandwidth.
I hope you use it as a reference.
