That, and a poor install. He mentions that he bumped the bottle heater
switch accidently while working on the car. He should have had the heater
circuit run through the master arm switch, and the ignition circuit. That
would prevent the heater from being activated unless the ignition switch and
master arm switch were turned on.
Of course, this is exactly the sort of detail that most people forget when
they install a potential bomb in their trunk. At least the idiot didn't
hurt or kill anybody when the accident happened. The failure of the blowoff
valve isn't real cool, either.
