I have used 2 Yamaha Oil Filters & 5 Emgo Oil Filters on my 97.  For the 
money I use Emgo as it is 1/2 the price of the Yamaha.  I put on 4900 miles 
on a trip last summer using an Emgo & had no problems.  On this trip my 
average per day was 600 + miles per day with half of the miles each day at 
100+ mph.  Just my recommendation.  Tim VMOA #1036
