Hi folks,
Thanks to everyone who responded to my post.
Everyone had good ideas, and here's what I
tried that solved my problem.
Someone suggested that the plates may have
just been "stuck" together from 11 (yes, eleven)
years of storage. So I put the bike on the center
stand, started it, stepped on the foot brake, pulled
in the clutch, held my breath, and engaged first
gear. The bike clunked into gear, but the wheel
didn't spin. Let off the brake and clutch and the
wheel started spinning.
The "shock" of the engine torque freed the plates
and now, ol' Pandora is about ready to ride.
I intend on rebuilding the clutch slave but not until
this winter.
Warmest regards,
Kevin
