Gee .. thats a big drill ...... be careful when "drilling" and
"removing" stuff. These engines are actually pretty well designed as
stockers ... big holes on either end may require major re-tuning to
realize any gain at all .. or to keep from going backwards. I would
think at this point you might need a "shim" or even more. The popping
at 4300 RPM indicates too lean a mixture as you are trying to open the
slides, (at 4300 you are just entering "mid-range"). If you simply
take the "Y" off ...... you will lose on the low end .. it will lean
the bike out even more ........ it might be good for 1 RWHP on the top
though. IMHO ...
