Success at last! Seven ft/lbs of torque on the bottom nut and the front
end steers nice and light with no weaves or wobbles up to 100mph. Factory
spanner was useless-I was forced to make my own tool. Tracy's World of
Cycles graciously agreed to take the tool back for a 20% restocking fee
which I thought was fair.
Thanksfor all the input; I was really stymied for a while. Next up is frame
bracing. Dale Walker's units look good. I don't want to do any welding on my
frame. Are they any good? Are there any others available? Also
V-Boost articles on oil were fascinating but failed to answer the two most
important questions: can you run synthetic oil in a Max and what is the best
oil for the bike?
