It's not hard to get that type of Hp out of a Harley if you bump the
displacement to 1800cc +. You can also buy a turbo for Harleys that
instantly gives you 50+ Hp.

If you buy one, be prepared to replace rear cylinders as well the previously
mentioned nuts, bolts and frame repairs. The rear cylinders over heat and
seize regularly due to poor air flow when ridden hard. (Probably the 1920's
2 valve per cylinder, air cooled technology). I've ridden my father-in-laws
Harleys and they sound mechanically worse than my old 1973 VW Beetle. He also
has an Arlen Ness bike with an S&S, large bore engine and it looks really
nice but I chose to have a Vmax + CBR900RR + XR400R + PW50 for my son for
significantly less money.

Why not just buy a rolling chassis and adapt one of your Vmax engines into it
if you want that look? Many companies like that offer everything from kits to
full turnkey bikes like the one's you are looking at. You'd end up with a
much better bike that you could ride more than you would have to work on it.
Call Denny Berg, he does a lot of bikes that end up in Cruiser magazine.

If you are still serious about buying a new bike with such an antiquated
engine, check out all of the other companies that are also making them like
Big Dog, Titan, California Motorcycle Company, Arlen Ness, Illusion, Etc.

Cruiser magazine had had an article on all these bikes a couple of years ago
(Fall 1996) and all the problems associated with them. Most of the bikes
didn't even make it through the magazine test session without breaking and
they also had problems getting titles and license plates.

If you just want the vibration, you could just take your flywheel out of your
Vmax and have someone machine a chunk out of one side so it shakes like crazy.
