I believe those switches come in different ranges just like thermostats.
Maybe you can get a different range to dial in the temp.

I installed a thermal switch from NAPA, I believe the part no. was FS-147.
It fit perfect but I found that the fan came on too soon and for too long
even on cool spring days. I ended up reinstalling the original but added a
manual toggle (doodad) switch that I got from the Dennis Kirk online
catalog.  Now I control when the fan comes on and if I forget the original
switch will eventually kick in.
