Hi,
Probably don't need the Jet Kit w/ the slip-ons, but this is one of those
questions that doesn't have a simple answer. How much bang (and what kind of
bang) do you really want? For most of us the answer is MORE - and it's a
moving target. Ditto how many bucks do you want to spend. For most of us the
answer is FEWER. The mechanic's answer is a good one, and one that I'd
probably agree with as far as it goes...but you'd get MORE with a full pipe
and Stage 1. Going the other way, you could just drill out your stock
exhausts, play with shimming your needles, tying your slide springs and
drilling out your mains and spend about two bucks (or about 1% of the cost
of the slipons) Mathematically, doing the slipons would require a power
improvement that's more than ONE HUNDRED TIMES what you'd get from the
aforementioned mods - and that ain't gonna happen - to match it in
bang-for-buck, so I think the above mods win.
Just watch the list for a while and pay attention to the guys who know what
they're doing, see what you want to do. No easy answers.
best.
