Hey guy! I completed the headlight unit yesterday. Man you talk about a
b*tch!!!! It took me about 6 hours. I am by far no professional machinist!
I am not too pleased by the way it came out.... If you go take a look at
your Max you will see that there is a cross bolt on the bottom of the
headlight housing. I made a bracket that moved this cross bolt from it's
present location (on the cross bar in the middle of the two front suspension
arms) to two identical units in front of the bottom clamp of the triple-tree
in front of each tube. I really like the way Mr. Max 's headlight is
recessed back into the suspension and was trying to duplicate this on the
duel headlight mount. Well, when you move the mount to this location, you
have to bring the top of the light housing forward to about an inch in front
of the "point" of the "half moon" shaped aluminum light molding. This
exposes the entire headlight bucket to view. It kinda gives it a, oh I
shudder to say.....a Harley look. You have to do this in order to beam the
light down the street. If you recess them against the fork tubes, it looks
really aggressive, but you will be blinding the local air traffic.

Anyway, I have decided to go with chrome to match the two stock headlight
units. The local chrome shop says it will be about two weeks to get the job
done. Once mounted I will take some pics and send them to you. That should
clear up some of the head scratching you are doing to try to figure out this
coon-ass description.
