My '99 stock bike also has a Mark's 4-2. I have stock non grooved needles
which are shimmed .020", close to 3 turns on the pilot screws, 155 mikuni
mains, 157.5 pilot air jet # 2 (from the original #170's). Basically your'e a
little richer than me, but I may also try the # 157.5 mains just to evaluate
the top end power difference. As far as my mid range and low down torque and
crispness is concerned it's at least as good if not better than stock. The
top end is also better but final jetting needs a dyno or drag strip test to
perfectly evaluate. Best part about the Mark's deal is the normal riding
right off idle to anywhere in the rpm range, it's just smooth and strong
everywhere. I personally don't care if it doesn't match some of the 4-1 pipes
for outright horsepower, those bikes still won't beat a Mark's 4-2 equipped
stocker through the gears and in roll ons where it counts.
