For those that have heard this question a thousand times before, I apologize
in advance. I searched the archives of both lists until my eyeballs turned
to flaming red mush. I couldn't find the info I'm looking for.
What I need to know is this:
What mods do I need to do to successfully mount a 200/50 ZR17 tire on the
rear of the 'Max? Obviously I'll need to change wheels, so I'm thinking a
pair of 17" Dymag Streetfighters w/ a 3.5" rim in the front and a 5.5" rim
in the back. I've been in contact with Island Racing and they can help me
out there. But what about the swingarm? I would like to fortify it anyway
and need to find out who does good work on this stuff. I could probably do
it if I had to, but don't really have the tools or space.
Is there anything else I should know about switching to 17" wheels? 200
rear tire? Radials? Brakes? Shocks? I plan on doing some horsepower mods
as well, but only after I'm done with the handling mods. In conjunction
with the 17" wheels/radials fix I'm doing some of the other handling mods on
Paul's site, including the Race Tech cartridge emulators and new springs. I
would appreciate any feedback - on or off the list. If there is a website
with this info please shoot me the URL. TIA!
