I'm in the process of installing the VTAC rev limiter, and have found that my wiring does not correspond to the diagram on my service book. I checked up on http://caber.com/vmax/, but it is the same. I'm particularly interested on the ignition, pick-up and wiring of the ignition unit. Yesterday I had my SPA revcounter/speedo tested and thanks to Eric Harnish and Scott Mellor, for I would have not embarked myself in such an ordeal if it hadn't been for their instructions and pictures from the speedo's slaughter. I seriously thought about giving up several times as I tried to prime open the original bezel, just like opening a can of pineapple with a screw driver. If opening it was a pig, clamping it and curling it once more round that SPA beauty was too strong for the weak hearted. Before doing it I checked inside the SPA cover and could not see any fuse, bulb or anything I could change, since it is more like an electronic Swiss watch with no owners serviceable parts inside. (if a bulb or diode go, it's time to send it back to the manufacturer for servicing). My thoughts for the future are to make a tailored SS or aluminium box, resembling the original instrument cover totally water proof, but for the time being it will do its job perfectly well. Have a handful of pictures and detailed procedures for whoever is interested. I have not made the speed sensor bracket yet, so I'm running with no speed reading right now. How does it feel? well, very weird since the original speedo had the cero at 8 o'clock and this rev counter starts at 4-5 o'clock. I now the original one reads speed while this one reads rpm, but it is just very strange to get accustomed to. The three warning diodes work wonderfully once set, specially the bright red one. Problem is I keep seeing it come on most of the times because my engine just pulls even more after the red light comes on and wants to go on and on.......... such a pity Have left the original tacho connected, it don't hurt..
