Thanks for the good responses. I replaced my starter lead with a 4 gage
marine cable a few week back and every terminal on my bike has been
extensively cleaned (including internal key switch and internal on/off
switch).
It appears that after 1990 the V-max had a 4-POLE (not brush) starter. I
know internal combustion but I do not know 4-POLE. Can someone tell me if
this starter is stronger and if it will bolt up to pre-90 bikes. Thanks, Paul
