Mark,
This is a real stab in the dark but I am going to assume you are
hearing a pulsating frequency that matches the rate of your wheel
rotation. If the source of your problem were from the drive shaft etc
... the noise would occur at a rate slightly faster than 3 times that
of a wheel rotation ...... sooooooooooooo ....... you know where to
look, (at anything that rotates with the wheels) .......

This would include brake rotors ... do you have one that is warped ??
You can rotate the wheels and watch them for runout ......

Is it simply a grease spot on one of your rotors ... interacting with
the pads every time around the circle ??

The tires are the prime suspect ... rotate them and look for for tread
runout ....... also straight on for a bent wheel etc .. and of course
any abnormal wear on the tread .....

Also ... any wheel bearing is suspect ....... and so are the ring gear
bearings ........

If you haven't .. then you need to get the bike up on the stand and
take a really good look at these items ..... if you have then you need
to at least determine which axle is the source ........ etc .........
IMHO ......
