Not VMAX technical but I'd hate for one of you guys to have the same sort of failure whilst travelling at speed. I'll scan the article for those of you that are interested. Mail me off-list if you would like a copy. I was just reading an article in Motor Cycle News (04/07/2000) detailing several instances of rear subframe failures on the GSXR1300R in the UK. I don't believe an official recall has been announced BUT if I had one of these bikes I'd have a very good look at where the rear subframe mounts to the main frame above the battery. According to the article there are at least three documented failures which may, or may not, be connected to aftermarket luggage systems. At least one of the bikes that failed did not have any luggage fitted. One owner was riding his Busa solo when he found himself "sitting on the rear wheel" when the back end of his two month old bike collapsed with out warning.
