My "P-51" has a 4-1 holeshot exhaust, K&N air filter, and dyno run. 118RWHP I am rying for 120. I still need to mess with the carbs more. I have all kinds of junk on my Max. It does not look stock at all. Hope finally this weekend I will get the pics up. What I did was to put two 6 gallon alumn. dune buggy cillinder gas tanks. They are 8" in di. and 36" long. I made a brace that clamps to the grab rail behind the back seat. This mounts to the center of each tank. The lead of each tank has a brace that runs down to the chrome bolt that holds the stock exhaust in place. I plumed the tanks to each other with a "T" and hocked them up to the stock tank line with a manuel tank selector found on old pick-ups. This inturn leads to the fuel pump. An old P-51 pilot from WWII saw the set up and remarked that they looked like P-51 drop tanks. Sooooo I painted the old P-51 star and bar on the side of each one. He Loved it. With the drop tanks 6+6 and internal fuel +3 I hav! e 15 gallons on bord. I get 40 MPG = 600 mile range. IE: The "P-51" Long Range Max. You might want to invest in a dyno run and a leek down/compression test. I am 175lbs + 120lbs fuel + 50lbs travel bag = 345LBS I do 80MPH for four hours stright and still get around 40+MPG. Make sure you have 40+PSI on your tires. I droped down to 32MPG because my son had let the air out in my tires to 20 PSI!!!!! Just like Dad, can't leave anything alone >;-P. Check your plugs and see if they are the right color. Kraig The "P-51" Long Range Max .............................................
