In other words, it's not pulling an adequate amount of heat out of the
radiator.
One solution would be to augment the fan with evaporative cooling. Install
a bladder, line, misting jet(s), and pump, to allow application of a fine
mist to the radiator in those situations where it's needed. It would work.
There are a few problems attendant with it though. First if it weren't
executed with care, it could end up looking like a Rube Goldberg nightmare.
Second, if you didn't clean the radiator regularly things could get a little
funky. If you didn't size the jets right, it could get a little funky
behind the radiator too. You would need to maintain the fluid level,
meaning that you might find yourself leaving work (or wherever) with a
coffee cup full of cold water. On the upside, it wouldn't pull more amps
from that already marginal charging system. Plus you could add "swamp
cooler" to your list of bragging rights. <g>
I gotta ask though, what bikes are having this problem? Is it the
Tourmasters conversions, or a certain vintage 'Max?
