The surge and hesitation cames at around 4000 where the carb was trying to stablize between coming off the plugged pilots and onto the needles/mains. To solve the problem I did two things. One was to add a bit of carb cleaner into the tank and after about 1/2 of running (on the highway) I would stop and run through the gears a couple of times with plenty of throttle. This would clear the system back to normal...a couple of times just running through the gears helped. cheers, Terry .............................................
