I'm just curious? What type of oil do you use in your Vmax?
I've gotten upwards of 50 m.p.g a few times, using Redline oil.
It's nice to hear you are getting upwards of 45+ m.p.g.

Darrin, I usually get around 40+ riding around the valley and
going to work and back. Only have taken the one longer "trip"
to McCall and got the 45+ on it. Been using Valvoline Racing
20-50 in the bike. Looked over the avalible oils at work, and
it was one listed for use in 4 cycle motorcycles.Bike is a
stock 98 that I bought new in july of 99. Only mod I have done
to it was add a switch so I can turn the fan on. Works great
when I am in city traffic and fighting the stoplights. As soon
as I notice it reaching the mid-point on the gauge I flip it on
and it has been keeping in that zone. Don't seem to have the
toasty crotch syndrom now. Used to have the fan come on when the
needle was at about the 3/4 mark and BOY!! could you feel the heat
coming off the motor. Catch it before it starts to really heat up
and so far it seems to hold it down at a more reasonable temp..
