scratched inner fork tubes

I know the inner fork tubes are not supposed to be scratched but does it 
matter where the scratches are?? I seemed to have put in a couple of 
nicks/scratches about 2 inches from the bottom of the inner fork tube while 
trying to put the slide bushing on the fork leg. Am i fucked or can I get by 
with this?
