Steve, two choices on the clutch. You need to replace the half disc that
is in there, that a definite thing to do. Yamaha does it so its easier
to get in gear when its cold. Also the stiffer spring from PCW. The
other is to replace all the fiber discs with the Kevlar from Barnett,
less than 100.00. They also have a different pressure plate assy.,
65,000 on mine still bites hard with full throttle power shifts. It was
around 120.00, may be more now. Its a pretty easy clutch to work on,
maybe 20-25 minutes to change. While your at it braided line for the
clutch, gives it a better feel similiar to a cable. Oil, Mobil1, Red
Line, Torco, Castrol, its up to you. Not all tires are the same width,
some as much as 1/2 inch wider than others. Check with some of the sport
bike guys in your area, you can see the tires first hand and do a little
measuring.
