i was having a similar intermittent popping or clicking when i engaged my clutch (93
max, 32000 on the clock)
believe it or not, it was the clutch lever... yes the clutch lever. as the soft
aluminum wears, it created a flat spot on the lever and therefore an uneven action on
the clutch piston. i was replacing the lever because
it was flopping up and down on its pivot bolt, after replacing it the clicking was
gone completely. stupidly simple huh? if your lever has a lot of play in it, try
replacing it along with the pivot bolt. let us know if it worked for you as well.
