Several months ago I asked for help diagnosing a loud noise coming from the
front of my '85 at highway speeds. The speedometer cable was suggested as
the culprit and it was found to be the problem. I then sprayed the cable
with my favorite lube (Break-Free) and the problem disappeared for several
thousand miles. Now it is back with a vengeance (seems to occur in colder
weather). I decided to give up and replace the unit only to have Tracy's MC
Parts tell me that the part has been discontinued. Does anyone know of a
source for this part or perhaps a more effective way to recondition it.
