My Honda dealer let me try out the new CB-X11 1100 yesterday afternoon, but by the time we had everything ready for the test it was too late and only had a chance to ride it for two miles in really heavy traffic. We have a public transport strike and the city streets were packed with private cars. I'm taking it out again in an hour's time so if I have time I will write something about my impressions this evening. Right now I can only say that it is a very clumsy and awkward bike to ride in those conditions, also having the bars (kinda clip-ons) too short for my liking. Braking is magnificent (any standard V-max owner will be greatly surprised). The front and rear are interlinked in such a way that if you use the front brake only, both front and rear are applied and what is funnier, when you brake with the rear the front suspension (rather hard and sporty) sinks due to the action of one of the front rotors braking at the same time. No problems with brakes. Engine cannot hide where it comes from and my first impression is that it is just a tuned down CBR 1100 XX engine, with little torque under 6-7K, just a very powerful sewing machine, but it's soon to say. Over here it costs $ 1.200.- less than the Max........... Best regards, Charles ( [EMAIL PROTECTED]) .............................................
