Hi Phil
The lockup I designed is really not my design
it is a ZX11 lockup head and an APE spring
conversion pressure plate.
The bolt circle (mounting hole locations) of the
ZX 11 is slightly different than the V-Max
so
the holes can be elongated and presto the
kawasaki becomes Yamaha.
It is not the ideal setup, the pressure plate is
somewhat flimsy and setting the spring
component of the lockup requires spacers
etc.
The clutch cover has to change to
accommodate
the increased height of the clutch assy., the cover
you saw would be very labor intensive to
produce.
I saw the Lexan clear cover at a show and made
one up for the fun of it, normally I run a solid
aluminum
version.Clutch setups are not something you want
everybody at the dragstrip to see. I plan to try
and
have the cover cast so it can be affordable and if
it can be done the cover could be machined to
accommodate the lockup or a conventional
clutch
with the window option. So back to the drawing
board
I'll keep the list informed as I progress with the
project.I will have a better version before the
snow
melts(yuck!)
