Okay, I don't know if anyone remembers this thread but, I finally got thru
to California DMV. If you purchase an out of state bike that has 7500 miles
or less, you have to install all the missing smog stuff and get it
inspected. If the bike has 7501 miles plus, they look at it to verify the
miles, then give it a new ID number?, and register it normally. No hidden or
extra fees.
Since the bike I'm purchasing out of state only has 6,000 on it, I'm gonna
have to do some serious riding the first couple of weeks before I take it
down, eh?
