somebody recently asked for alternative front brake configurations for early VMax. Here is what i am going to start with on my 1992 Max. i decided on this based on what i overheard here on the list and others, and what my pocketbook and wife's bonus check would allow( i.e. it ain't the Brembo's ). i do NOT have this on the bike at this time.... i do not even have all the parts in hand. but it is gonna work pretty good is what i am thinking. here are the parts i have lined up: RMS adapters( black powder coated ).......$ 75.00 ( round about ) 4-pot Nissin calipers from a 97 CBR900....$110.00 ( like new cond. ) 2 sets of EBC HH pads ....................$ 62.00 HO45510-MAS-006 M/Cyl SubAssem.Front.....$105.80 (153.60 @local Honda) HO53170-MW0-006 Lever, R.Handle..........$ 16.05 ( 25.94 @local Honda) HO90114-MA5-671 Bolt, R..................$ 3.96 ( 6.11 ) HO90201-415-000 Nut, Cap 6mm.............$ 1.15 ( 1.92 ) MSF "refresher" course....................$priceless:-) The lower Honda part prices are from: http://www.servicehonda.com/parts.htm so anyways..... that is what i am going with. i believe it totals to about $375. and the new pads are not even a necessity. NOTE: i also have a set of 4-pot GSXR750 calipers( Tokico? ) that i will test with the RMS adapters to see if they are a fit. raleigh _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
