synthetic if I'm going on a long road trip. If it were cold here (below 40)
or hot here (over 90) I'd use 100% all the time. IT is mild here year round
and 99% of my riding is in the city meaning short trips so I need lots of
oil changes to get the  crud out. The expense of 100% is a waste to me.

Thank you for bringing this up. One of my primary reasons for choosing the
synthetic is the cold and hot performance.  While I don't ride much in the
winter I do take the bikes out on the rare nice days to stir the oil up and
stir myself up.  During summer months in rush hour traffic the temps get
pretty high and again the synthetics perform well at high temperatures.
