I had the same problem when I got my supertraps but I
pryed my headers and bossed the slip-ons onto the
pipe. The only problem I have now is that they are
stainless steel and I must clean them with Brass "O"
after every weekend to keep them gleaning.  I added an
extra amount of clearance (1/4") with a full stack of
disk's and it turns some heads when I roll by.
