On my prevoius Max I had a stage 7 with Kerker pipe which I was very happy
with.
On my current scooter, the motor is still stock and I have open SuperTrapp
slip-ons only.
Got rather attached to the 4-2 look but the headers are stock (I think they
suck) and the diameter is WAY too small.
Living in africa we tend to manufacture a lot of stuff ourselves, and as a
Kerker costs well in excess of $1000 US, I have been toying with the
following:
Get a local exhaust manufacturer (He did some good work on V8 headers for
me) to bend me a set of header pipes using a pipe with a larger ID (NOT a
double wall pipe) but exacly the same as the stock headers.
This will also include the balance (Cross over) tube as per the stock
headers.
I will also have to enlarge the slip-ons to accomodate the larger headers.
I have ordered a Stage 7 kit and plan to use aftermarket individual filters.

Hopefully this will get the Max breathe a bit better ???
I know that it will discolour but I can live with that.

PS: As a semi-lurker living in a country without cold winters and all year
round riding I feel it is my duty to pop out of the lurking closet & seek
some technical advice from the Max guru's out there and maybe help Mario to
shorten the days 'till spring ;-)
