Yes ... as you apparently already know ... you are running too lean
... the higher octane fuel will make the engine run richer .. that is
why it is improving your situation ...... Why don't you just slide a
shim, (washer), under you needles for the time being ... that should
make things much better and can be done in about 20 min ....
