Bo,
I ride in the winter providing the major roads are free of ice
and snow. The street in front of my house is usually snow packed and
slick so I'm very careful riding on it. What I do do when we have a thaw
here in Montana is I jump in my car and check the roads that I want to
ride on to make sure they are free of ice and snow. Riding on ice and
snow packed isn't any fun.
