I kept putting off preparing my bike for winter, and so it has been
standing for about 3 weeks without running. Prior to that though it had
been running every day without problems.
Today I decided to start preparing it for winter so went to visit it the
garage. It started up fine, battery looked in very good shape. I let it
run for about 10 seconds then heard the engine starting to slow down.
There was gasoline dripping at a fast rate from the left side of the
bike, there was already a 6-inch wide puddle of gas on the ground.
That V-Max is a 2000, bought last April, with close to 7000km on it, so
it is still under warranty. Monday I'll try to convince the dealer to
come and have a look, because there's no way I'm driving there: it's
less then 2km away, but it's -10C outside :-). Oh, and one last thing,
the bike is stored in a heated garage. Is it possible that the
carburators got completely jammed after only 3 weeks standing,
considering that the bike is new and there probably was next to no
deposit in the carbs beforehand?
Thanks,
Eric.
