Bob, my fuel pump has done the same thing to me a couple of times.
First time i took the pump apart looking for a problem, couldn't find
anything wrong with it. I put the pump back in and it worked fine. Last
spring it happened again, got a used pump from my local salvage yard and it
blew fuses too. Took the origional pump apart again, nothing visiably wrong,
put it back in it worked fine. About two weeks ago i was winterizing my bike,
when i turned the key i couldn't hear the pump running, same thing, a blown
fuse. I tapped the pump with a screw driver and it started working again. I
know that this isn't solving your problem, but others have had the same go
round with these pumps.
