I'm currently tasked with estimating a port of V8 to Power ISA or making an interpreted version. My target is the Cell PPE.
Has anyone tackled and published a Power ISA version previously? Is there a known interpreted version of V8 that exists, perhaps from an early stage of the code base when the IA32/Arm back-ends did not yet exist? Based on the YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=lZnaaUoHPhs, V8 - the Chrome Engine at GDD 2008 in London), it sounds like the interface between V8 and the back-end code generators will become even closer in the future. Is there any word on this?
