introduction of TurboFan

The introduction of TurboFan broke the x32 build. There is a ODR build
error that is fixed by the attached patch. A bigger issue is that a number
of places assume that stack slots are pointer-sized, which is not true on
x32: a pointer is 4 bytes but stack slots are 8 bytes.
