Wouldn't it be smarter to look at what has given rise to that "V8's worst case" statistic before reporting it as an "optimization issue"?
The outlier measurement (yes the chart shows it as an outlier) is from a comparison of programs that perform arbitrary precision arithmetic - using otoh the GMP library and otoh a library written entirely in JavaScript.
