This seems to be an old bug in the Solaris assembler:
http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6763925. I don't know if
we can do anything about that. Is the Solaris as actually GNU as? If not,
you can try using the GNU toolchain. Another possibility might be playing
around with the compiler flags, but as Jakob already mentioned, this has to
be done by someone with a Solaris machine.
I'll leave the bug open for now, but if we don't get further hints, we
should probably close it soon...
