Googling around a bit seems to indicate that this is a problem related to
visibility and some compiler/toolchain combinations. Could you please post
the complete error message, from all I've read, the relevant part is
probably exactly the one you left out. Furthermore, please post the
exact "make" commandline you've used. We don't have any FreeBSD platform to
test, so we need as much information as possible and do all fixes on a best
effort basis.
Another test would be compilation via GCC. Does this work on you platform?
