Comment #82 on issue 235 by [email protected]: Support the Javascript E4X extension
http://code.google.com/p/v8/issues/detail?id=235
Ant, Maven, Eclipse, Flash Builder, Chrome, Visual Studio, etc etc... all rely on XML; and, I'm pretty sure JSON won't be replacing XHTML anytime soon, do you? To say "XML is still out there" or it "was a fad" is just retarded. E4X is an immensely useful tool for dealing with XML, and it's downright pathetic that a few incompetent coders at GOOGLE (wth) cannot manage to write this STANDARD extension that appears to be so VERY MUCH IN DEMAND (requested since 2009!!!!).
FYI, feel free to look at SpiderMonkey or Tamerin's source code for guidance.
