not sure how much it matters, but while trying to compile the patch with
clang 3.2 it gave me the following:
../src/api.cc:3842:39: error: commas at the end of enumerator lists are a
C++11 extension [-Werror,-Wc++11-extensions]
kRightmostEdgeIsSurrogate = 1 << 5,
^
I'm generating the timings now and will post them in a minute.
