I've been meaning to comment on this issue. I've noticed that test's
slowness on Linux before, but never had the time to dig into it. The CPU
affinity observation in comment #2 is interesting.
The patch can at the very least serve as a basis for discussion. I'm not
sure if fixing just the test is the right approach, or whether should
change something in the production code to ensure that such 40-second wait
times don't happen for users trying to interrupt V8's execution. But maybe
it is the best we can do, and declare equivalent handling of the issue to
be the embedder's responsibility.
