This was discovered while working on the patches in

and
https://codereview.chromium.org/19384011/
It looks like there's a possible compiler bug in gcc getting triggered with
the above combination of flags that results in an array bounds warning that
I think is actually wrong. If you comment out (or re-write) the assert on
line 695, the warning goes away.
