Re: suggested solution 2: We cannot do anything like "start bar.baz with
the PreParser until we see a variable that needs to be bound to the outer
context, in that case, go back to the beginning and parse it with the
Parser". We cannot go back in the character stream, so once we have lexed
some part of the code, we cannot move the lexer backward.
